VIDEO: To Celebrate Daylight Savings, Tourneau Turns Back 8000 Watches In One Weekend

With daylight savings just two days away, NYC's largest watch retailer began the process of resetting over 8000 watches today, a process that will continue through Sunday. Tourneau's turnback weekend has gained some notoriety as of late, and above is a somewhat strange video that quickly devolves into the reporter not speaking to people about time. Still, if you stop it before the 2 minute mark, it's not a bad clip.

Ponzi Schemer Bernie Madoff and his wife’s Belongings Auctioned

U.S. Marshalls Service on November 13th held an auction at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers, where Ruth Madoff’s 10.5 carat diamond ring brought in the big bucks. This was actually an auction of the belongings of Ponzi schemer Bernie Maddof. Mrs. Maddof’s diamond ring was sold for 550,000, while her diamond earrings went for over 100,000. Apart from these two jewels, other items belonging to Ruth Maddof were also sold, and they brought in a total of $2million. Bernie Maddof’s Rolex “Moon Phase” also went under the hammer for $67,500. A Steinway & Sons grand piano also brought in $42,000. The couple’s king-sized bed went for $2,250. Who bought the bed? Tally Wiener, the lawyer who helped liquidate Fairfield Sentry, a fund, which fed money into Madoff’s accounts before going under. He said he will offer the bed to Mrs. Madoff. Back in 2007 Jaeger-LeCoultre expelled this Master Eight Days Perpetual calendar (ref. 16124SQ) watch - as well as it still looks beautiful today. With an original cost of about $100,000 , there have been (relative) deals to be found today. The skeletonized black 'frosted' transformation is amazing to demeanour at, but you'll have to forgive the pattern for creation we hunt the bit for all the report which we have available upon the dial. The transformation tone is essentially due to ruthenium, as well as there have been pure discs all over the dial.
