Harry Winston will soon launch this new collection of watches called the Ocean Sport. While I don't think the name sounds particularly high-end (though the Ocean is a long standing Harry Winston watch), they are interesting are relatively simple and satisfying sport versions of the iconic Harry Winston Ocean watch fare. The Ocean Sport will have a few versions, and pieces for both men and women. Style wise they feel very much influenced by some Roger Dubuis pieces from the last few years. Does anyone else see that? What connects each of the Ocean Sport watches is an aesthetic theme as well as a Zalium case. Zalium is a special titanium alloy unique to Harry Winston watches. Connected to the watches are either black or white HW branded rubber straps. The men's models come with light or dark cases and in chronograph or three-hand models. These are called the Harry Winston Ocean Sport Chronograph or Ocean Sport Automatic watches. They are 44mm wide in satin finished Zalium cases.

With Halloween just around the corner you may think you have seen and heard everything but this may sound really creepy, weird and difficult to comprehend. A Czech artist recently exhibited his works in which he used human ashes instead of paint. Titled the Grave Robber, artist Roman Tyc used ashes from human bones to paint the portraits of dead people. During the exhibition he declined to show himself as he wanted his art to garner all the attention. In his statement he expressed "I have to say that when I was exploring this funeral world I understood or found out some things. One of these things is the fact that practically no one knows human ash, no one knows what it looks like and only a very small percentage of people come across human ash during their lives. For me it was interesting to follow people, to see how they are exploring the ash and how they take it." Early this month in Milan, two new paintings were unveiled by famed British artist Damien Hirst in conjunction with a fantastic exhibit at the Triennale Art Museum , OClock - time design, design time (full report on that coming). Hirst is an avid collector of Panerai watches and the brand has actually made appearances in previous examples of his work: a Panerai watch is painted on a table next to medicines and a skull in Skull with Watch from 2005 and is physically present in the installations The Tranquility of Solitude (for George Dyer) (2006), and Killing Time (2008). In these two works, Panerai is even more present. Both of the works are examples of his now famous "spin paintings", but what you below is a canvas covered in paint, as well as actual Panerai dials.
