BRM Records TB Watch

After four years of research, development and testing, Bernard Richards and his team at B.R.M. watch manufacture have unveiled an extraordinary looking timepiece the BRM Records-TB (or TB-10000 Tours as stated on the BRM website). Given his fascination with racing and watches with strong personalities, this watch is perfect coming from Bernard Richards. While B.R.M. is not well known in the U.S., they are distributed throughout the States and the simple fact is that I cant help but love many of these unique looking timepieces they are all so, so.individualistic (see also the BRM England watch). Like an MB&F or a Urwerk, this watch will turn heads given its unconventional design and wrist presence.

The basic idea with the Records TB watch is that when placed flat on your arm, the dial and hands are readily visible with no need to rotate your wrist (let go of the wheel, etc.). The watch features a titanium and carbon fiber case (measuring roughly 44mm x 25mm) that looks like a dashboard instrument of sorts. The movement is nothing more than a Swiss ETA 2671, modified such that is operates at a 90-degree angle to the time display though surely there was some ingenuity involved in this. While Id love to know more of the backstory on this watch, including its odd name, for now Ill just have to admire the photos

Available December 2011 at a retail price of 8,200 Euros ($11,300 at current F/X rates) from any BRM dealer worldwide.
