HODINKEE For Club Monaco: Vintage Watches Made In The USA

Club Monaco (a subsidiary of Ralph Lauren) recently launched a cool project with friend of the show Michael Williams (of ACL) to bring together some of the best American made menswear products into CM stores. And what would menswear be without a great vintage watch or two?

As part of the Made in the USA collection, we worked with Michael and Club Monaco to find a small handful of interesting vintage timepieces in great condition, and of course, they are all from American watchmakers. There are less than ten watches in total, split between Club Monaco's New York flagship at 21st and 5th and Toronto's Bloor Street location.

Included are some absolute classics of American horology, such as some 1950s Hamilton dress watches, an early trench watch, an Elgin that was given to the winners of the 1954 Sugar Bowl, a killer original Benrus Sky chief (a chronograph from an American company??), and no less than three authentic Mil-Spec watches issued to the United States Armed Forces. There are two military watches from the 70s (one Hamilton, one Benrus), and one incredibly rare Mil-Spec Timex from the 1980s, just like the one we wrote about here.
